Sharyn Lonsdale: Proving that a Crazy Life and Family Can Give You a Second Career

This is an unretouched photo.  I have had no surgery of any kind, these are my own personal lips and my sunglasses are not hiding any recent eye surgery.  However, I will admit, this might not be the hair color I was born with.

Hello my darlings,

Do you enjoy the world of film? Would you like professional guidance on what films to see and which to avoid because we both know, your time is much too valuable?

Let me help you navigate the world of cinema. Amanda, what are your qualifications for this difficult task you might ask.  While now retired except for the occasional infomercial or home shopping network appearance for my space age polymer/eye wrinkle cream, I have appeared in many a semi-memorable B Movie and the occasional C- movie as well.

Maybe you saw me as the misguided guidance counselor at Horror at Hoosier High or as the swimmer with the ill-timed cramp in Space Shark II: The Devouring (both available in Beta).

After an attempt to reinvigorate the Spaghetti Western - in France, I moved to England where I met my second or third husband, rugby coach/barrister Ian Whitcomb Jones, and quickly landed a role as the confused but spirited upstairs parlour maid in the British miniseries What's All This Then?

For my work at H(at)HH and the sequel Doomed Debutantes of Des Moines, I was an honored guest at the 1997 and 2002 Des Moines Film Festivals and I received an award for achievement in screaming at the 1991 Anchorage Film and Snowman Building Festival.

Now, Ian, and our children, Emma, Noel and Summer Rainbow (from my first marriage to a karma adjuster in Los Angeles), live in lovely Englewood, where I sell the props I permanently borrowed from film sets on eBay, work on my biography "Glam I Am," and share my highly-valued opinions on film on the pages and the Web site of The Englewood Review. Visit and learn how you can have a more informed and enlightening time at the Cineplex.

I am also available for special appearances, guest commentary, talent show judging and general merriment. E-mail me at amandaglam@verizon.net.
